Peter Buckley, MD


Chair of the Board of Trustees

Dr. Peter F. Buckley became the 26th Dean of the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in 2011. A psychiatrist and expert in schizophrenia, Dr. Buckley also is a Professor of Psychiatry, Pharmacology and Radiology at MCG. Dr. Buckley has published more than 350 original articles, book chapters, and abstracts. For his transdisciplinary work on State-University collaborations, Dr. Buckley received the American Psychiatric Association Administrative Psychiatric Award (2004). He has been continuously acknowledged since 2002 in “The Best Doctors in America.”


Jatinder Bhatia, MD

Chair of the Foundation

Dr. Jatinder Bhatia completed his pediatric residency, including a year as chief resident, at the Augusta University in Augusta followed by a joint fellowship in neonatology and pediatric nutrition. He is the author of more than 100 articles, abstracts and book chapters and has made presentations of his work nationally and internationally. He has been recognized for his academic and clinical work throughout his career with honors such as the Distinguished Faculty Award for Institutional Service at the Augusta University and the Georgia Nutrition Council Award of Excellence.


Adam Berman, MD

Chair-Elect of the Foundation

Dr. Adam E. Berman is board certified in Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiology, Adult Echocardiography, and Internal Medicine. Dr. Berman joined the faculty in 2006, and primarily focuses on complex arrhythmia ablation including ischemic ventricular tachycardia ablation and pulmonary vein isolation procedures. He is currently principal investigator on several ongoing trials involving cardiac resynchronization therapy, as well as a protocol investigating novel mapping techniques during ischemic VT ablation.

Jack Yu, MD

Immediate Past Chair of the Foundation

Dr. Jack C. Yu, is board certified by the American Dental Association, Northeast Regional Board in Dentistry, American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Yu is the Chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery as well as the Director of the Craniofacial Center at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia and currently heads the monthly Cleft Lip and Palate and the Craniofacial programs at AU Health. He is active in the mathematical modeling of cranial morphogenesis and is currently editor of the Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal.
